Busted: Most Pest-infested Suburbs In Melbourne

Free online consumer service identifies suburbs with most creepy crawlies and provides reliable suppliers

November 30, 2007 Melbourne CBD and Garden City top the city's list for termites, cockroaches, ants, rats, birds, possums, fleas, spiders, wasps and bees pest control service requests during October, according to free consumer website http://www.quotify.com.au .

Clifton Hill, Hotham Hill and Flemington also made the top five, with 60% of requests indicating an immediate need for pest control services.

http://www.quotify.com.au launched more than twelve months ago and is backed by media portal Ninemsn. It matches consumers and home services trades suppliers with the three most suitable suppliers according to their specific requirements. Consumers are contacted by the three suppliers and then make their selection. http://www.quotify.com.au also supplies consumer user guides, advisory articles and supplier reputation data based on user ratings.

The company receives over 1000 consumer requests per month for pest control, carpet cleaning, security, removal and kitchen fitting services, and during September recorded a record number of requests for pest control service due to the approach of Summer.

“It's a boom time for pest control companies as the latest warm weather has hatched a sudden spike in the number of nasties. We've seen a huge increase in the number and immediate demand for pest control services and are advising the public not to put off getting their properties fumigated as the problems will only worsen as we get into the height of summer,” said Peter Crowe, CEO at http://www.quotify.com.au .

“Consumers rarely know what to ask tradespeople when requesting quotes and they simply don't have time to shop around. More often than, we find they favour reliability over the cheapest quote. What consumers really need is a qualitative feedback mechanism and that's what we provide through the Quotify service. We take the pain out of finding a supplier, explained Peter Crowe, CEO at http://www.quotify.com.au .

Individual consumer feedback is provided to suppliers based on many events (jobs won or completed, jobs lost and why). Consumer surveys and category benchmarking reports will also be sent to all suppliers (for example, how long an average job takes in a certain category, etc.) to help suppliers improve their business.

Quotify will launch its service in most industry verticals within the next six months.
