Repulsive but generally easily avoided are maggots. Insects such as houseflies and blowflies lay their eggs on decaying meat or faeces - the larvae that emerge are maggots. If maggots should be found in the garbage bin, for example, dispose of the rubbish and clean the bin; you can use an insecticide to kill the kill maggots if you wish, but prevention is the easiest way to avoid the problem.
