Ants can invade homes in search of food or water, leaving a trail for other ants to follow. Heavy rain, pot plants and pet's bowls near the house can also head ants your way, while cracks and crevices are useful entry points. They can form nests in cavity walls and roof voids, under buildings and in the garden.

Control

Ants rarely become serious pests, but if infestation is serious, professional help may be needed to find and eradicate the nest - this is the best way to guarantee long-term control. For small numbers, removing food sources such as crumbs and dirty utensils, and regular vacuuming will help keep ants outdoors.
