The smell may seem to be gone, but when the weather gets humid and the carpet gets moist, the odour will return. And if your pet notices the odour - and pets are good at this - they are likely to return to the spot for another go.
Its time to call in the professionals. They will get to the source of the odour. This may mean that they need to pull back the carpet and underlay and treat the floor. As wood and concrete slab floors are porous, the urine just soaks in. These floors will need to be treated and sealed. The affected underlay may need to be cut out and replaced with a new piece, the carpet backing will need to be cleaned and neutralized - all before the cleaned carpet is relaid.
